Jean Carol Bondeli was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Gunnar and Irene (Manser) Gren. Jean was married to Harry Bondeli on September 10, 1955 and they had two children, Steven and Terry Ann. She was baptized into the Christian Faith and became a member of West Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osceola, Wisconsin. Jean spent time as a secretary and did some factory work before taking a job at the Wanderoos Cheese Factory working in the lab doing the testing. For several years she taught art classes for the 4-H Club. Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed art. She was an accomplished painter and also did drawings. When there was time, Jean was always ready to go fishing, especially at her parents' cabin on Steamboat Lake. During her time on the farm she and Harry had over 50 foster children share their home. In the late 1990's she moved the hi-rise apartments in Amery and for the past two years has been a resident at Golden Age Manor in Amery. Jean loved people. There were no strangers, only friends she hadn't met yet. She was always ready with a smile or a laugh. She enriched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love and joy. She made the world a better place for all who knew her. Jean passed away at Golden Age Manor on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the age of 77 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; parents Gunnar and Irene Gren; granddaughter Kelli Elmer and foster son Peter Taylor. Jean is survived by her son Steven and his wife Donna; daughter Terry and her husband Tim Elmer; brother Gail (Karen) Gren; sister Lois (Lowell) Berget; grandchildren: Kade Elmer, Reese Elmer and Sarah Bondeli. She also leaves nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from West Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osceola, Wisconsin. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the West Immanuel Cemetery.
