Obituary

Jeffrey Key Harris was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on June 7, 1942 the son of Leonard "Bud" Harris and Olive G. (Isaacson) Harris. The family moved to Amery, Wisconsin where he attended school graduating from Amery High School in 1960. On July 6, 1963 he was united in marriage to Barbara N. Iverson and together they had two children. For a short time he worked for Iverson Implement in Amery, but then attended DeVry University in Chicago where he received training in electronics. After completing his schooling they moved to Iowa where he worked for Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. They returned to Amery where Jeff operated J & B Shoes for 17 years. After closing the store he worked for Electrocraft and DMA before taking a job with Dynatronix, where he worked for 12 years before retiring in 2012. Over the years Jeff was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. He was also very talented and meticulous building model airplanes and Muzzle loading guns. He enjoyed the outdoors and the hunting and fishing it provided. Jeff passed away at Region's Hospital in St. Paul on Tuesday evening, December 15, 2015 at the age of 73 years.
His mother Geraldine Harris preceded him in death. Surviving family members include his father Leonard "Bud" Harris; wife Barbara Harris; son Kris (Laurie) Harris; daughter Jill Harris; grandchildren: Bailey Harris, Chase Becherer, Abbey Harris, Amanda (Kenny) Marek and Luke Harris. He also leaves brothers Brad Harris, Lee Harris, and Todd Harris and sisters: Pam (Rob) Phillips and Penny Warner as well as other relatives and friends.


There will be a visitation at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from noon until 2 pm. A memorial prayer service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Keith Ruehlow officiating. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
