Jeffrey Paul "Hauger" Haug, 52, passed away on April 7, 2024 after an extended battle with depression.
Jeff was born on July 20, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Jerry and Catherine Haug.
Jeff was a wonderful son, treasured brother, beloved uncle and caring friend. He was extremely smart but above all he was a gentle, loving, humble, patient and kind person to all who were lucky enough to cross paths with him.
Jeff attended elementary, middle and high school in Mahtomedi. He graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 1989. He attended college at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and received a double major in Mathematics and Physics in 1993. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota and received a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His first job after college was working for defense contractor Raytheon. True to his beliefs, he did not want to be involved in the creation of weapons of mass death and destruction so he moved on to be become a consultant for several respected firms; Anderson, Accenture, IBM and Deloitte.
In his spare time, Jeff was passionate about sports and a fiercely loyal fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Gophers. Gopher hockey being his favorite. He also enjoyed board games, puzzles, fly fish lure tying, fishing and spending time at the cabin.
He loved spending time with friends and relatives. His nieces and nephews always gave him immense joy and he loved them dearly.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy. He is survived by his father, "Popa" Jerry and partner, Judy; Brother, Greg and his wife, Carol and their children Josie, Will and Kate; and Sister, Gerilyn and her husband, Patrick and their children Ashton, Joseph and Grace.
The immediate family will hold a private ceremony April 13, 2024, and a Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held from 1pm to 4pm on July 13, 2024 at the Lake Elmo Inn Event Center, 3712 Layton Ave. N, Lake Elmo, MN. Jeff was buried at Little Falls Cemetery, Amery WI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association .
Until we meet again, we will miss you Jeff, but we are glad you are free. Rest In Peace.
