Jerry Lee Strohbeen was born in Clear Lake, Wisconsin on May 29, 1933 the son of Emil and Dorothy (Wabaschall) Strohbeen. He grew up on the family farm between Amery and Clear Lake. After he was done with school he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Jerry met his wife, Betty Karis, before his service and they wed when he returned home at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery on December 29, 1956 and together they had two daughters. They made their home near Amery and he commuted and worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Eagan until 1995. Jerry had a knack with equipment and could fix most anything. He enjoyed going to stock car races and tractor pulls. He was an avid dice player and very competitive when he did play. A favorite time for him was mowing the lawn with his John Deere tractor, it had to be mowed just the right way. Jerry struggled with heart health issues for a long time. He collapsed at home and was transported to the Amery Hospital where he passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the age of 81 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving family members include his wife Betty; daughters: Alecia (Michael) Sparks and Tammy Strohbeen; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother Calvin Strohbeen; sister Barb Donath as well as other relatives and friends.


At a later time private family services will be held. Interment will be at the East Lincoln Cemetery in rural Amery.
