Joanne Evelyn Alling, age 79 of Clear Lake, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Joanne was born and raised in Somerset, WI where she attended school, graduating as Valedictorian and Homecoming Queen. After graduating high school she was united in marriage to Robert Holland. The couple made their home in Somerset and later in Taylors Falls, MN where they raised six children. The marriage later dissolved and Joanne eventually met her life partner, Jimmie Spurrell. Joanne and Jimmie made their home in Clear Lake, Wisconsin where she was still residing. She worked as a Nursing Assistant at Golden Age Manor in Amery for 18 years. Joanne loved quilting, and was in bowling and horshoe leagues. She also enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales and auctions looking for antiques. She was loved and will be missed by her family, many friends and a lot of wonderful neighbors. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kevin Holland. She is survived by her life partner, Jimmie Spurrell; sons, Vernon (Barb) Holland, Terry (Geri) Holland and Richard Holland; daughters, Deborah Tucker and Norma (Ronald) Gafner; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Joanne is also survived by a brother, Joseph (Rosie) Carufel, and sisters, Mary (Bud) Koch, Marlene (Tom) Pribble, Ruth Ann (Armand Jarvis) Spires and Kathy (Ed) Bible. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 from St. Anne Catholic Church in Somerset, WI. A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as the hour prior to the service at the church.
