Joel Anthony Skoug, born September 15, 1960, died peacefully at his home on February 14, 2019 after a battle with cancer. He was most recently a resident of Osceola, WI. After graduation from Amery High School in 1979, he joined the U.S. Navy. There he was trained as a structural mechanic for Navy aircraft. While enlisted, he worked on aircraft carriers, repairing and maintaining their fleet of planes.
In 1985 he settled in Whidbey Island, WA and was employed by Tramco and later Boeing working on building, repairing and maintaining airplanes. In 2002, Joe relocated to the Amery area and worked locally. Joe enjoyed grilling out, playing cards, watching sporting events and was an avid Packer fan! He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Joshua, also of Osceola, his daughter, Tiaonna (Brandon) Corbett of New Bern, North Carolina; and grandchildren Ethan, Seth, Fiona. Siblings Jerelyn Skoug of Amery, WI; Jackie (Eric) Goplin of Osseo, WI; John (Connie) Skoug of Libertyville, IL.; and James (Brooksy) Beilke-Skoug of Madison, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held from 4 - 7 PM on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Amery Community Center with a service starting at 4 PM.
