Obituary

John Thomas Christiansen passed away unexpectedly on November 1st, 2026. He was born on June 11, 1962, in Hudson, Wisconsin. He grew up in Hudson on a hobby farm and later moved with his family to Clayton, Wisconsin, in 1975. He was the 2nd youngest of 11 children.

After attending WITC, he pursued a career in the HVAC and plumbing trades. He worked for Don Talmage for many years before eventually taking over The Plumbery & More in Amery, Wisconsin. Throughout his career, he enjoyed seeing and visiting with the many people he worked with and for, building connections along the way.

Some of his favorite memories were made “Up North” in the Boundary Waters. This was a special family tradition that began when he was just one year old. He carried that tradition on with his own children, creating memories and sharing a place that meant so much to him.

He also had a love for trap shooting, fishing, hunting, and, of course, cooking. He could make a mean chili or a pan of scalloped potatoes. But perhaps what he was most famous for was his sugar with a side of coffee; especially when paired with homemade donuts during the holidays.

John was fortunate to have many close friends throughout his life. Whether it was sharing a cup of coffee, telling stories, lending a helping hand, or spending time doing the things he loved, those friendships meant a great deal to him.

John was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Irene Christiansen, his sisters Linda & Susan, his brothers Thomas and Robert ‘Reno’ and sister-in-law Shelly. He is survived by his children Cooper & Jared Lange, Jazmine (Dylan) Matter, & Jake Christiansen. His sisters Karen (Dan) Foust, Diane (Doc) Watson, Therese (Paul) Christensen; his brothers Gerald (Becky) Christiansen, Willam (Becky) Christiansen, and Patrick Christiansen as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery on Saturday, November 14th, 2026 from 3 to 6 PM. Please wear casual clothing or Packer gear.
