John Michael Evans, age 29, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017.

John was born on January 12, 1988 and was adopted by Dave and Laurie (Ovaldson) Evans in Rapid City, South Dakota. John graduated from Balsam Lake Unity High School in 2006. After graduation he moved to Eau Claire and then Merrill WI. He then moved back to Balsam Lake where he most recently worked at Minit Mart. In his spare time he enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons with cousins, reading, watching NHL, playing Xbox, watching football games with Ray, and hanging out with his friends and family. He had a love for life which he shared with everyone that met him, he always had a smile on his face.

John is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Evans (John Horstman), their children Penn and Laila; a brother, David Evans (Jana Schultz), their children David III and Takota; long standing girlfriend, Sara Lipke; his adopted family, Laura and Ray McKenzie, their three children -John's other siblings, Matthew, Denise and Lisa McKenzie; and the rest of their extended families. He is preceded in death by his parents Dave Sr. and Laurie Evans.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
