With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jon on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the age of 50 years. Jon is survived by his loving parents James and Pamela (Hatella) Pankonien, daughter Tashana Jo Pankonien (fiancé Josh), sister Jacquelyn (Pankonien) Votsis (husband David), niece Maddie Votsis and nephew Brandon Votsis. He leaves behind grandma Nancy Hatella, aunts and uncles, a host of close cousins, and girlfriend Melissa White. Jon leaves behind numerous friends/buddies: Kipp, Bob, Stacey, Travis, Chad, and many, many others.
Jon attended Amery Public Schools and played Amery Hockey for 13 years. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed bow hunting, fishing and was involved in a die-hard fishing league, as well as loved the art of cooking. Unisource was his employer, as he assembled wire harnesses. Jon was a real joker, who made people laugh as part of his daily ritual. Family, friends and the Packers were very important to him. Through it all, he kept his humor while he battled cancer for 20+ years and never complained.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Muriel and George Pankonien, Bernard Hatella, uncles Dell Pankonien, Gene Pankonien, and Randy Hatella.
