Josephine "Jo" Rita Ellingsworth was born on June 29, 1922 in Clarissa, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Ursala (Smolek) Thrun. She was baptized in the Catholic Faith. On May 9, 1941 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis she was united in marriage to Richard Feste and together they had six children. In 1962 they moved to Amery, Wisconsin. Richard preceded her in death in 1971. Jo was a daycare provider in her own home for many years. On June 28, 1980 she was united in marriage to Sidney Ellingsworth and they continued to make their home in Amery. She was a volunteer at Golden Age Manor for many years. They enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with family as well as playing cards and traveling when time allowed. Sid preceded her in death in August of 2014. Jo has been a resident of Golden Age Manor where she died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 93 years.
Jo was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Feste and husband Sid Ellingsworth; son Joseph Feste, daughter Sandra Larson, daughter-in-law Gloria Feste; step-son Dale Ellingsworth; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers and four sisters. Left to mourn are her children: Richard (Lori) Feste, Diane (Rodney) Larson, David (Patricia) Feste, Kathy (Daniel) Feste-Hannah; step children: Carolyn Whitehead, Barb (Cliff) Swager, Gail (Todd Slattengren) Vance, Tracy (James) Vance, Gary (Cheryl) Ellingsworth; son in law Robbin Larson; 7 grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 33 step-great grandchildren; 6 step-great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday, August 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
