Julia Rose Sorensen, 78, of Amery, passed away on December 23, 2023 at the Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN.

Julie was born in Menomonie to Edward Schmidt and Viola (Morley) Schmidt on August 2, 1945. She went to grade school at Oak Lawn, a one room country school, and graduated from high school in Boyceville. She also attended classes at University of Minnesota, where she was only a few credits from graduation. She married Gale Sorum to which a son Monti was born. They divorced, and a few years later she married Kenneth Brunn and lived in the twin cities. After Ken passed, she met and married Bob Sorensen of Luck, and moved from Apple Valley, Minnesota to Luck, Wisconsin. In 2017, they moved to Bear Trap Lake by Amery and also had a home in Sun City West, Arizona where they spent winters for 10 years. Julie enjoyed golfing, fishing, friends and family. In Arizona, she often played golf 4 to 5 times a week.

Julie was a career girl and had jobs at National Car Rental, Interstate Diesel and Proctor and Gamble where she was an analyst and received several achievement awards. she retired in 2008.

Julie is survived by her husband, Bob; her step-children, Scott (Jackie) and John; grandchildren, Jessica (Dan), Reed (Jordann), Kyle, Phillip (Paige), Daniel and Whitney and 4 great grandchildren; her brothers, Edward (Joyce) and Alfred; her sisters, Rebecka and Maryetta; and her sister-in-law, Karen Johnson (Martin).

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Viola; her son, Monti; previous husband, Kenneth Brunn; brothers, Oliver and Jack; sisters, Virginia, and Rowena.
