June Emmaline Zeeveld was born on March 16, 1922 in Clear Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of Charles and Julia (Johnson) Tobias. She grew up in the Clear Lake area. June's mother died when she was quite young and she helped care for her other siblings growing up. On March 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to LaVern Zeeveld in Stillwater, Minnesota. A few years after their marriage they moved to Milwaukee because of his work. They remained in Milwaukee until 1977 when they moved back to Clayton, Wisconsin. June loved cats and having them around. She was an excellent cook and baker which was a treat for all those who would visit her. She also made many items crocheting or knitting. June was a fisherman and could keep up with the best of them when it came to catching fish. After Vern's death she stayed in her home for a year, but health struggles of her own made it necessary to move to Willow Ridge Healthcare Facility in Amery in April of 2009. June died at Willow Ridge on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband LaVern, parents Charles and Julia Tobias, stepmom Tina Tobias, brothers Robert (Ruth) Tobias, Earl, Wayne and Fred Tobias, sisters: Arlene (Dick) Tilseth and Irene (Lyle) Beauvais. Survivors include her sisters-in-law Annie Tobias and Maxine Tobias, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Falls Lutheran Church in rural Amery. There will be a time of visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Little Falls Cemetery.
