Obituary

Kenneth Ketz was born on July 5, 1928 in Clayton, Wisconsin to Samuel and Hazel (Johnson) Ketz. He grew up in and attended school through the ninth grade in Clayton, and always talked about having a good upbringing by Ma and Pa. His brother, Jimmy and sister, Bernice would say that he definitely had a mischievous side as a child. His first job was as a cheese making helper at Stella Cheese. He was united in marriage in 1949 to Arlene (Steglich), and to this union three children were born. He enjoyed carpentry as a hobby and was especially proud of his children. Ken was a friend of Bill W. for 28 years. He found that scripture reading and hymns were traditions that gave him hope and encouragement. He felt that a lesson he learned in life that he would like to pass on to others is honesty. Ken is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Hazel. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Tom) Hill of St. Paul, MN, Brad (Colleen) Ketz of Ham Lake, MN, and Pat (Liz) Ketz of Ortonville, MN; eight grandchildren, 13 ½ great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice (Lynn) Larson of Columbia Heights, MN, brother Jim (JoAnn) Ketz of Clayton, WI; special friend Mary Laqua and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. He was very loved at Redeemer Place in Minneapolis, MN where he had currently been residing. Kenneth passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2011 from the Williamson-White Funeral Home Chapel in Amery, WI. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Clayton Cemetery.
