Kyle Joseph Truckey was born in Amery, Wisconsin on February 9, 1991 the son of Randy Truckey and Lori (Cornell) Self. He grew up in Amery and graduated from the Amery High School with the class of 2009. As a young man growing up he loved the challenge of taking something apart and putting it back together again, and he was good at it. He attended Chippewa Valley Technical College for mechanics. He recently moved to Montana where he was working in the oil fields as a "Roust About", the person who fixes anything and everything. If something on an oil rig needed fixing he was up to the task. He was liked by his co-workers because he was always trying to be helpful. Kyle was a total outdoorsman . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, and collecting rocks. He was always bringing interesting rocks he found home. Kyle had a significant other, Tiffany, who with their unborn son, also died from her injuries in the truck accident with him. Kyle died at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 22 years.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Kayden, grandfathers: Patrick Cornell and Joseph Truckey. Left to mourn are his father Randy Truckey; mother Lori (Dave) Self; sister Cheyenne (Jason) Moore and their children Kiley, Khole, and Brantley; grandmothers: Mary Ann Truckey and Betty Cornell; step-sister Eli Self and step-brother Daniel Self and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Amery. There will be a visitation on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Amery.
