Laila Tawfic Saleh, age 78 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Golden Age Manor in Amery. She was born on March 10, 1940 in Jaffa, Palestine, the oldest child to Tawfic Ibrahim Saleh and Zahieh Mousa Azar. Laila was raised in Aboud, Palestine and in September of 1958 was united in marriage to Munir Butros Saleh. The couple had four children and in 1967 the family immigrated to the United States and made their home in Boston, MA; eventually settling in Amery in 1982 where Laila has lived ever since. Laila loved cooking, people and being a housewife, and her greatest love and joy were her children. Laila was preceded in death by her husband, Munir and her sister, Ilham Razzouk. She is survived by her children, Saheer (Hanna) Khoury, Rana (Bruce) Knutson, Ibrahim Saleh, and Butros (Fadia) Saleh; 2 sisters, Siham Nuwayhid and Nuha Saleh; grandchildren, Jade Larson, Michael Saleh, Howard Knutson, Nour Saleh, Chloe Saleh, Laila Saleh and Malak Saleh as well as other family and friends. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery. A visitation will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, October 15, 2016 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as for the hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are Saheer Khoury, Rana Knutson, Abe Saleh, Butros Saleh, Michael Saleh, Howard Knutson, Hanna Khoury and Bruce Knutson. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
