On November 15, 2011, our sweet mother, Lillian Joyce Harshman, joined her beloved husband, Wayne Harshman in Heaven. Lillian Joyce Vanderpoel was one of five children born to the late James and Grace Vanderpoel, on April 12, 1939 in Onamia, Minnesota. She graduated from Amery High School in 1957 and was married to Wayne Harshman on July 19, 1958. Together they lovingly enjoyed the trials of raising five children. They supported their athletic children by coaching and cheering at endless little league games, attending high school baseball and football games, wrestling matches and marching band/color guard events. Lillian worked for many years at the Golden Age Manor where she made many friends while cooking and caring for other families loved ones. She was an avid Brewers fan, loved beautiful glassware and embroidered wonderful items. Lillian will be forever remembered as the kindest and most loving mother, who not only loved without judgment, forgave without question and mended you when broken. Her gentle soul will be missed by her beloved children, Mark (Cheryl) Harshman, Ty Harshman, Michelle (Dave) Rhode, Todd (Sue) Harshman and Tracy (Jay) Smith; treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her caring siblings, Bernard, Laverne and Doris. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and brother, Marlo "Sonny" Vanderpoel. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11 am at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
