Lillian E. Roberts age 87 passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the Amery Willow Ridge Nursing Home. Prior to her death she was a resident at River Bend Assisted Living Home. Lillian was born in Frankfort Kansas on November 14, 1928 to Louis and Ada (Ekstrum) Haley. She grew up in Frankfort where her family were share croppers. The family migrated to Beattie Kansas where Lillian completed high school and graduated in 1946. Lillian met her future husband Ralph R. Roberts (also of Beattie Kansas) and they wed on August 6, 1949. They moved to St. Paul, MN to begin a family and later in 1960 to Amery WI where they established a dairy farm. The family farm and raising seven children made for a busy life. Lillian was an avid homemaker, enjoying gardening, canning and Holiday cooking and baking. She enjoyed crocheting and quilt making for her family. She loved to travel to the many family events to Kansas and surrounding areas. Family get togethers at the farm were always special for kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and extended family. Lillian also enjoyed feeding and watching birds while at her farm. She was a member of the Amery Congregational Church and involved with many activities after the children left the farm. Strong family values were one of her strongest messages she taught her children.
Lillian will be loved and remembered by children Gary (Tham) Roberts, Janice (Russell) Mantel, Wayne (June) Roberts, Donald (Brenda) Roberts and Judy (Steve West) Roberts; grandchildren Daryl (Sheeree), Chad, Travis (Bethany), Randy (Jody), David (Melissa), Tammy Roberts, Lisa (Brian) Thompson, Christie, Marina, Kevin; great-grandchildren 14; Sister Larrene Diehl.
She was preceded in death by parents; Sisters Grace Davis, Pearl Roesch, Ella Mae Schneider, Margaret Ward, Joyce Holenbeck; Brother Robert Haley; husband Ralph Roberts and children, Wendell, Dennis, Timothy and Robert.
Her family would also like to thank those who gave mom such wonderful and compassionate care these last few months at RiverBend assisted care and Willow Ridge Nursing Home. There are no words for all the kind thoughts that have been shared with us about Lillian and the lives she has touched. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Thanks Mom for everything you have done for us, we will carry on now with the many memories we all have your kindness and love.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Congregational Church in Amery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
