Lily Agnes Setter was born on July 22, 1916 in
Turtle Lake, Wisconsin to C.W. and Alice Brace. After graduating valedictorian from Osceola High School, Lily attended River Falls College and graduated from Polk County Normal Teacher's College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Beaver Brook from 1940-1941 and at Lakeside Elementary in 1939, near Deer Park, WI. While there, she met her future husband Victor. They were united in marriage on April 5, 1942. Her married life was spent on farms in Cylon, Deer Park and Dresser. Besides caring for her family, Lily was active in the Wisconsin Extension Homemakers, including being President of the national council. She also was a devoted 4-H Leader and a part of a local craft group for many years. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Victor; sister Fern Anderson Bruner; brother Robert and a son Gerald. Left to celebrate her life are her children, Alice Setter, Bruce (Margaret) Setter, Carol Robinson, daughter-in-law Susan; six grandchildren, Randi Setter, Kristy Setter, Eric Setter, Peder Setter, Rachel Robinson and Derek Robinson, three great grandchildren, Joey and Jake Setter and Alana McGivern. She is also survived by her brothers, Neal, Leo and Ray Brace and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her niece and caregiver, Louise Jensen. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home Chapel in Amery, WI. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the funeral home, as well as for the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers are her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers are her great grandchildren. Interment will be at the El Salem Cemetery.
