Mabel Blanchard, age 97 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Amery Regional Medical Center. Mabel was born on December 13, 1912 in Dora Township, Minnesota to William and Minnie Diller. She attended school and graduated from high school in Perham, Minnesota. Mabel then moved to the Twin Cities where she met her husband Homer. They were united in marriage on November 25, 1933 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They then moved to Mahtomedi, Minnesota where they raised their two children, a son Russell and daughter Marva. They lived in Mahtomedi until 1999 when Mabel moved to Amery to live with her daughter Marva. Mabel was an avid gardener, and enjoyed baking, cooking and playing cards. She spent her winters in Arizona up until last year, and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends there. She also loved to walk. Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; husband Homer; son Russell; six sisters: Florence Eaton, Agnes Bluhm, Elsie Strong, Irene Gould, Margie Johnson, Ella Anderson, and one brother, Max Diller. She is survived by her daughter Marva Perry; granddaughters Alison Gartner and Megan Perry; great grandson Ryan Moore and many other loving relatives and friends, including her loving companion, her dog Libby. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, Wisconsin with Pastor Barry Schaefer officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family interment will be at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Mahtomedi, MN.
