Obituary

Marian E. "Meg" Fleming was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 29, 1939, to John Gill and Catherine (O'Keefe) Gill. She grew up in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and graduated from Pius XII High School. On September 16, 1961 she married Curtis Fleming. Together they had four children.
In 1966, Meg and Curt moved to Amery, where they raised their family. Family and friends were especially important to Meg. She loved socializing, travelling and spending time with those who were special to her. Meg worked in medical records at the St. Croix Falls hospital, Crestview, and then at Golden Age Manor for 23 years. She retired in 2002. She volunteered her time at the library, radio station, hospital, and at Amery schools. She was active in theatre, belonged to the Red Hat Society and enjoyed vacation time, adventure and shopping.
Meg passed away peacefully January 8 at Regions hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Saleh, and infant son Brian. Meg is survived by her husband Curtis; daughters: Renee Albrecht (Roger), Shar Mike (Bob), and Kit Smestad (Brian). She also leaves her grandchildren, Amanda, and Robert Albrecht, Ashley Gronlund, Mackenzie, Madelyn, and Maxwell Mike, and Wyatt and Vaughan Smestad.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery, with visitation 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
