Marie Freer, age 75, of Milltown, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Hansen, and her beloved granddaughter, Ava Hutton.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Byron Freer; her daughter, Nina (Mike) Hutton; her son, Allan (Leah) Freer; her grandchildren, Mikayla (Eric), Courtney (Andrei), Aidan, and Linnea; and her great-granddaughter, Thea.

Marie’s greatest loves were her husband and grandchildren. She could often be found on the sidelines, cheering wholeheartedly for those she loved. She made friends wherever she went and never met a stranger.

Marie bravely battled cancer for nine years, defying everyone’s expectations but her own. Her strength, joy, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Her light and laughter will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
