Marilyn Mae (Borchert) Olson was born on April 1, 1936 in New Ulm, Minnesota to her parents Alton and Erna Borchert. She was confirmed as a young child at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm on April 2, 1950. Growing up Marilyn attended school in New Ulm and graduated from New Ulm High School on June 3, 1954. Marilyn met David Olson and was united in marriage to him on September 29, 1956 in New Ulm. To this union 6 children were born. The family made their home in Deer Park, Wisconsin where her and Dave dairy farmed together. They continued farming until 1981 and then moved south of Amery, Wisconsin. Marilyn then worked at the Amery Hospital and at Willow Ridge Heath Care Center in Amery until her retirement. Marilyn was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery. She taught bible school for over 20 years at Forest St. Johns. Along with teaching bible school, she was also a Cub Scout leader for many years. During her farming years Marilyn loved feeding the calves, driving tractor and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed mowing the lawn, her flowers, coloring and reading. She was an accomplished knitter who made many knit caps for family and friends. Many of her caps were also donated to charities. She also loved going to morning coffee at the Senior Center. Marilyn was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. On September 28, 2016 Marilyn passed away at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 80.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, David Olson; 2 daughters, Deb (Larry) Brantner and Kathy Langness; 3 sons, Jim Olson, Mike (Sue) Olson; Ken (Cathy) Olson; 19 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren; a sister, Pat (Duane) Sanderson; a brother, Roger (Lynn) Borchert and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father- in-law, Henry and Myrtle Olson; a daughter, Sandra Broker; a grandson, Darin Brantner and a son-in- law, James Swenson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 600 Keller Avenue South Amery, Wisconsin 54001 with Pastor Tom Hahn officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North Amery, Wisconsin 54001 and for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church.
