Marjorie A. Berget passed away at Amery Regional Medical Center on Sunday morning July 15, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Amery. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
Marjorie Ann Berget was born on September 23, 1932 on the family farm in Cylon Township, of St. Croix County, Wisconsin, to Helmuth and Hazel (Norlander) Krumm. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She attended the New Richmond Schools and graduated with the class of 1950. On August 18, 1951 she was united in marriage at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond to Orvin "Obby" Berget. He was the love of her life, and her best friend. They shared 49 ½ years of marriage together. They were blessed with six children who kept her very busy. She was a constant companion and co-worker with Obby on the farm. Besides that she sold Avon products for 30 years. After retiring from farming she went to work at the St. Croix Casino as a cashier and was there until her retirement in 2003.
Marjorie's greatest pleasure came in watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at many sporting events. She rarely missed a game or an event! Marge was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she held many offices in WELCA, including President for a number of years. After a fall this past December she has struggled with many health issues. Marge peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday morning, July 15, 2012 at the Amery Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Obby, grandsons Chad and Jeremy Bottolfson, and brother Neal Krumm. Left to celebrate her life are her children: Barb (Don) Bottlofson, Julie Frost, Pat (Jim) Ellefson, Steve (Patty) Berget, Lisa (Rod) MacDonald, and Jacki (Kevin) Marlett. Grandchildren: Cheri (Jeremy) Sarsland and their children Chad, Presley and Abbie; Jason (Kallie) Bottolfson and their children Emma, Hannah, Ethan and Noah; Carrie (Chad) Fouks and their children Derek Sigsworth, Bailey Sigsworth, Kaitlyn and Rachel Fouks; Gabe (Mandy) Brotzel and their children Morgan, Mia and Miley; Tammy (Chris) Sorenson and their son Carter; Travis (Jen) Ellefson and their children Olivia and Ashley; Todd (Anna) Ellefson and their children Tyler and Tori; Valerie (Jeff) Lutz and their son Mitchell; Marcus (Britini) Berget; Kristina Berget (Eric); Roderick MacDonald; Elizabeth MacDonald; Nicole (Josh) Miller and their son Dylan; and Katie (Nathan) Borowicz. She is also survived by her brothers: Doug (Dory) Krumm and Virgil (Esther) Krumm; sisters: Reta Kjeseth, Marlene Granger, Sharon (Frank) Reckon, Bev Krumm, and Gail (Steve) Krey; sisters-in-law Jean Krumm and Joan (Bub) Maxon as well as other relatives and her WELCA family.
