Obituary

Marlene Jeanette Ringer, age 75, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Willow Ridge Healthcare Center in Amery, WI. Marlene was born on January 1, 1940 to Walfred and Florence (Bryngelson) Mickelson. She lived in many places throughout her lifetime and was a jack of all trades. She took her first job when she was 13 years old driving log trucks for her dad in the Blue Hills. She then became a court stenographer when she was 18 while living in Santa Barbara, California. Marlene worked many factory jobs which included the Barron Sewing Factory, the Chippewa Shoe Factory, St. Croix Plastics Factory in Turtle Lake, WI and the Almena Plastics Factory. Marlene also worked as a Registered Nurse and Private Investigator while living in Rice Lake, WI. She also spent time living in Sarona and Rockford, Illinois. She loved all nature and enjoyed living on her hobby farm with cattle, horses, geese, chickens, guineas, dogs, cats, and rabbits. Every spring she would order more animals. Marlene loved coming up with new ideas for her land and was always planting something. She had a beautiful flower garden every year. She would walk in the woods for hours just enjoying it all. Marlene liked to crochet, knit, sew, read, do woodworking, spend time on her computer, and going back to school. She also enjoyed swimming, roller skating, fishing, and even camped in Death Valley when she was 18. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dale Mickelson; a great grandson, David Benson; brother, Steve Mickelson; sister, Verna Mickelson; sister in laws, Cheri and Debbie; brother in law, Bob Watts; and nephews, John Ruscito and Jeff Schmitz. She is survived by her sons, Delmer and Jim; daughter, Jenny; daughter in law, Paula; son in law, Ronnie; grandchildren, Dale, Becky, Lee, Missy, Jeremiah, Jessica, Jasmine, Heather, Josh, Cody, Jacob, Dillon, and James; great grandchildren, Ethan, Dominik, Caleb, Ricardo, Jovanni, Alejandro, Gabriel, Jesstina, Sapheria, Tristen, Talia, and Sage; brothers, Bill and Richard Mickelson; sisters, Marian Schmitz, Karen ( John ) Ruscito, Jean (Ted) Workman, and Julie Floan; sister in law Julie Mickelson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Barron, WI; 154 Memorial Drive, with the Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI and from 10 to 11:00 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Otter Holt Cemetery in Prairie Lake Township.
