Obituary

Marlyn H. Bottolfson, 87, of Amery, Wisconsin died on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery.

Marlyn was born in Little Falls, Wisconsin, on September 15, 1939. He started life as a boy plowing fields with a team of horses and milking cows by hand, living on a farm with no electricity or indoor plumbing. He grew from a small, skinny boy into a man of strong physical and spiritual stature.

He married his sweetheart, Nancy Isaacson, on September 24, 1960, and soon after, they bought a farm and began the life they would share for the rest of their years. Marlyn knew how to work hard, sometimes taking a second job to make ends meet. Together they raised a family as they built the farm into what it is today. Marlyn also found time to serve his community through his church and as a director on multiple boards.

He was often called the life of the party. If you knew Marlyn, you also knew his infectious laugh. You knew he was in the room even if you couldn't see him! Marlyn brought so much joy to so many people.

On August 19, life changed with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. The next eight weeks were full of challenges that he ultimately couldn't overcome. After hours of precious time spent with family and friends, Jesus escorted him to the place that was prepared for him.

Marlyn is preceded in death by his parents, Carney and Fern. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Bryan, Kevin (Jean) and Mari (Jeff) Feder; and grandchildren Mackenzie (Mark) Snyder, Brady Bottolfson, Lane Feder and Lauren Feder.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, WI. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Balsam Lutheran Church in Amery with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at the Balsam Lutheran Cemetery in Amery.
