Martha Harriet Sather (Bronoel) was born on October 26, 1925 in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Justin and Minnie (Broderson) Bronoel. She grew up in Balsam Lake and attended the Goose Lake Grade School. She attended Balsam Lake High School and graduated in 1944. Martha moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and worked for the American Red Cross. Martha met her future husband, at a dance in Dresser, Wisconsin. On June 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Glen Howard Sather and together they had six children. They moved to rural Amery, Wisconsin and operated a dairy farm in Garfield Township. They sold the dairy herd in 1986. Martha was a member of the Deronda Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Besides being a busy homemaker, Martha also worked at the Amery Hospital in housekeeping and laundry for over 25 years. She retired from the hospital in 1995. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She was, also, an accomplished quilter. Martha passed away at her home in rural Amery, on Saturday night December 14, 2013, at the age of 88 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, daughters Sharon Moeri and Carol Sather; brothers: Ernest, Lawrence, Philip, Clarence and Robert as well as one sister Elsie. Her surviving family members are her sons: Richard, James and Curtis Sather; daughter Mary Sather, sister Laura Bronoel;
12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 18 at 11:00 a.m. from Deronda Lutheran Church in rural Amery. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Deronda Cemetery.
