Mary Julia Kuslich was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 22, 1912 the daughter of James and Elsie (Bidon) Coyne. She grew up in St. Paul and attended Washington High School where she graduated. On July 1, 1939 she was united in marriage to Harold Kuslich in St. Paul. They made; their home in St. Paul until the early 1970's when they moved to Brainerd, Minnesota until Harold retired. They moved to Anoka in retirement. Mary was a skilled crafter and knitter and many people enjoy the fruits of her labors. Following the death of her husband she moved to Amery five years ago so she was closer to her daughter. Mary lived at Evergreen Village and later at Riverbend Assisted Living where she passed away on December 29, 2009 at the age of 97 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, sister Agnes, one infant brother and a brother Lewis. Left to mourn are her daughter Elsie (Chuck) Labreche; grandchildren: Scott (Mary) Erickson, Chris Erickson and Tracy Beine; great grandchildren: Cami Beine, Jolee Beine, Siera Erickson and Meghan Erickson.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Forest Lake, Minnesota on Wednesday January 6, 2010. There will be a gathering time from noon until 2:00 p.m. with the service being held at 2:00 p.m.
