Mary Jane (Forman) Prellwitz, age 76, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at her home in rural Amery. She was born on March 15, 1937 in Lebanon, Ohio to Maurice and Pauline (Cooper) Forman. She was raised on a farm a mile south of Red Lion, Ohio, where she developed her love for animals. Mary Jane was a Buckeye through and through, with Ohio embedded in her soul. She enjoyed helping the under privileged which became her passion. All her adult life she fought for the under privileged. She taught the mentally challenged in Minnesota for 20 years and then returned to the farm in Amery in 1972. Always a teacher, her strong convictions and principals leaked out at every opportunity. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, John and children, Warren and family of Amery, and Polly and family of Apple Valley, Minnesota, as well as an older sister and younger brother. Private family services will be held at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
