Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Roxanne Jacob (Murrell); his grandparents, Clarice and George Froehlich and Simon and Gladys Jacob; and his uncles, Wesley Murrell and Robert (Bob) Jacob.

He is survived by his father, Gary Jacob; his sister, Ginger Wassman (Jacob); his brother‑in‑law, Matt Wassman; his nieces, Madelyn Wassman (Sparstad) and Shay Wassman; Madelyn's husband, Matthew Sparstad; his great‑nephew, Emmitt Sparstad; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael grew up on Lake Wapogasset in Amery, Wisconsin, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors. In 1984, his family moved to Forest Lake, Minnesota, which he proudly called home. He graduated from Forest Lake Senior High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Mankato, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Marketing.

Michael's true passion was athletic training and physical wellness. He found great fulfillment in helping others achieve their fitness goals by increasing strength, flexibility, mobility, and overall quality of life. His encouragement and dedication positively impacted many lives.

An avid outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing, and he was also an enthusiastic spectator of NFL games. He played football in his adolescence as an Amery Warrior and a Forest Lake Ranger. Above all, Michael cherished time spent with family and friends. He especially treasured his role as an uncle to his nieces, Madelyn Wassman (Sparstad) and Shay Wassman.
