Michael D. Parks was welcomed into life by Irene Green and Kenneth "Skip" Parks on August 20th 1964. He spent his early childhood near his birth-town of Pierre, South Dakota before moving to the Amery area. With a gift for analytical thinking and computer programming, Michael graduated Amery High School in 1982.
On the morning of Monday, Dec. 8th, Michael succumbed to a rare, debilitating brain disease. The disease—an awful admixture of Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and Lou Gehrig's diseases—slowly sapped Michael's mental and physical abilities. Despite no known medical treatments, Michael fought until he could no longer eat. His battle in the face of an insidious, immutable fate inspires his immediate survivors: Irene Green (mother), Bert Green (brother), and Karen Parks (sister). Family and friends pray Michael may go in peace to join his father (who preceded him in death).
A memorial service will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Williamson ~ White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North, Amery, WI. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to services from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
