Mildred Amanda Lemme was born on April 2, 1922 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota to Martin and Martha (Heggen) Thompson. She attended school in Blue Earth County and at a young age moved to Thompson, Iowa where she attended school for a short time before having to stay home to care for her ill mother. She met Charles Lemme and on September 12, 1942 they were united in marriage. The couple made their home in Iowa and to this union five children were born. In 1960, the family moved to Amery, WI. Chuck and Millie continued to live in Amery and on Monday, July 27, 2015 Millie passed away at the age of 93 at the Golden Age Manor in Amery where she had been residing due to health issues. Millie was a member of the Red Hats, Volga Homemakers, Hospital Auxiliary, Christian Women's Group and was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She loved her family, traveling, collecting dishes and was known for her elaborate table settings when entertaining. Millie was preceded in death by her six brothers, Ed, Chris, Tommy, Melvin, Maynard and Ted Thompson. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles; children, Allen (Laura) Lemme, Marianne (Danny) Stewart, Janet (Rod) Everson, John (Albie) Lemme, and Daryl (Meg) Lemme. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Laura (Scott) Sjogren, Shannon (John) Boerckel, Leah (Jake) Greene, Michael Lemme, and Mandy Albee; eight great grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery as well as for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery. Memorials preferred to The Smile Train.
