Myrtle Marion Bergstedt was born on June 15, 1917 in Georgetown Township of Polk County, Wisconsin. She spent her early years in Georgetown. She has been a lifetime member of Elim Lutheran Church in Range. On July 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Bergstedt and together they raised three children. They made their home in Range for many years, and then moved to Amery. LeRoy, not liking city life, moved them back to Range after their family was grown. Myrtle enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She also liked dancing, especially to Jim Armstrong music; she and LeRoy would glide around the dance floor. Myrtle has been a resident of Golden Age Manor in Amery and passed away there on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 96 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy, son Dale, Brothers Albert, Donald and Leonard Norlund and sisters Lorraine Carlson and Arlene Johnson. Surviving family members include her daughters: Betty Bergstedt and Peggy (Jeff) Green; sister Beatrice Carlson; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Elim Lutheran Church in Range, Wisconsin. There will be visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Elim Cemetery.
