Obituary

Norman Gordon Johnson was born on July 27, 1931 to Theodore James and Mildred (Paulson) Johnson on the family farm in Clear Lake, WI. He grew up in and attended school in Clear Lake, graduating in 1949. After school, Norman worked for a short time until he served in the Army and fought in the Korean War. After his service, he moved back to Clear Lake in 1954. On March 16, 1956 he was united in marriage to Barbara Fox, and the couple made their home in Clear Lake where they farmed and raised five children, along with taking in several foster children. They sold the farm in 1980 and moved into town in Clear Lake, and in 1996 moved to Amery where they currently reside. On November 19, 2015 Norman passed away at the age of 84 at Golden Age Manor where he was currently living due to health issues. Norman was a lifetime member of the Clear Lake VFW Post 5828, and member of the Amery Free Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball, as well as bowling and playing horseshoes. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Crystal and brother, Marvin. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Dan, Rod (Donna), Robert (Denise) and Jerry (Jesseca); daughter, Mary Ellen Johnson; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Peterson and Adeline Myhrwold, as well as other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Amery Free Lutheran Church, with Pastor Eric Christensen presiding. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as for the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Fox Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Dan Johnson, Rod Johnson, Bob Johnson, Jerry Johnson, J.R. Johnson and Amber Johnson, along with honorary pallbearers, Kenneth Johnson, Jamie Johnson and Jordan Johnson. To sign a guestbook and view a video tribute, visit www.williamsonwhite.com.
