Orin Boardman Cain Jr.
Age 88 of Amery WI, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 15, 2012.
Orin was born on Feb 19, 1924 in Denver, CO to Elena and Orin B Cain Sr.
His family moved to Amery Wisconsin area in 1930.He graduated from Amery High School in 1942.
Orin joined the Army in July, 1944. While serving in Europe during WWII he received the Bronze Star for "heroic achievement in action".
He married Marion R. Babcock in 1947 and moved to Middletown, NY where he lived on, and worked a small farm. He moved the family back to Wisconsin in 1959 and operated a farm on shares northeast of Amery. He bought and moved onto the old home place less then a mile away in 1962. He was a janitor for the Amery School system and later worked as a sheet metal worker which turned out to be something he enjoyed.
He was divorced in 1972 and married Anne Burleigh a year later. He loved and cared for all his family from both marriages and greatly appreciated all his friends.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking and had also written a memoir on his life up to and including the year of 1997.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anne, brothers Homer, William, and Carlin, sisters Lois, Miriam, and Nina, son Ron and stepdaughter Judy.
He is survived by brothers Dallas, Orison, and Melvin, sisters Oralee, Violet, Lynnette, and Lucy, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, children David, Paul, Rod, Shawn, and Tylor, daughters-in-law, step-children, George and Willis, grandchildren, Mike, Dan, Wade, Luke, Adam, Rachael, Alex, Alana, and Nathan, step-grandchildren Monica, Jennifer, Eric, Le Ann, Nita, Aaron, Scott, David, and Dan, and many great grandchildren.
Lastly and most importantly, he is a devout Christian.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Apple River Community Church in rural Amery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the East Lincoln cemetery.
