Patrick Gordon Grant of Amery, WI died at home on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 86 years, eleven months and seventeen days.
Patrick was born on July 7, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN to Malcolm and Bertha (Horsman) Grant. Since he was the oldest son and needed on the farm he never went past the seventh grade in school. Patrick enlisted in the Air Force in 1949 and during his enlistment he completed his GED for his High School Diploma. While in the Air Force on July 16, 1952 Pat married LaVera Wike and they made their home in Texas where he was stationed. After he was honorably discharged from the service they moved to Eau Claire, WI where he worked for Northern States Power Company starting as a linesman and retiring as a supervisor of the Central Division in Wisconsin. During this time Pat and LaVera raised five children and indulged in his love of aviation, flying and golf.
Patrick is survived by a daughter Patricia Grant, 4 sons, James (Connie) Grant, Richard (Janelle) Grant, Daniel (Sandy) Grant and John (Denae) Grant; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Dennis, Stephen, Jeffrey and Gregory; a sister, Sheila Grant and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVera, his parents, 9 brothers and sisters, Lennis, Barbara, Rita, Wilma, Mike, Gloria, Monica, Madonna and Douglas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, Wisconsin with Pastor Ellery Groth officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Williamson~White Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
