Pearl June Larsen was born on June 6, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of George Clarence and Hazel Christine (Knudsen) Foss. She spent her early years in Chicago and attended the Falconer School through the 8th grade, was Confirmed at St. Peter's Evangelical Chapel in June of 1938, and attended Foreman High School and graduating on June 24, 1942. She went on to attend Wright Junior College, also in Chicago. On November 27, 1946 she was united in marriage to Johan "Jack" Robert Larsen and three children were born to this union. They remained in Chicago until 1949 when they moved to Amery, Wisconsin where Jack opened his optometry practice at the Amery Clinic.
Pearl was active in the Amery Community. She belonged to Amery Women's Club, assisted with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, chaired the Amery Bloodmobile for several years, and was an election official in Amery. She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Amery. Pearl enjoyed playing bridge. She was an avid knitter, and produced numerous hats, mittens and sweaters for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit Russia, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Hawaii and Mexico besides seeing much of the United States. Pearl especially looked forward to, and enjoyed extended trips to Norway to visit family. Pearl died at Golden Age Manor in Amery on November 22, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jack Larsen, parents George and Hazel Foss, Sister Elaine Oliver and her grandson, Brian Christopherson. Left to mourn are her daughter Karen (Dr. Terry) Christopherson of Amery; sons Mark (Crystal) Larsen of River Falls, WI and John (Diane) Larsen of Centennial, CO; nine grandchildren: Lori Stevens, Michelle Moss, Heidi Case, Bryce Christopherson, Eric Larsen, Evan Larsen, Lisa Luehman, Jeff Larsen, and Tonya Hillman; twelve great grandchildren: Jessica Olmstead, Wyatt, Ellery and Sawyer Case, Rachel, AJ and Benjamin Larsen, Gretta and Caroline Stevens, Ava Larsen, Caleb and Jacob Moss. She also leaves an Aunt, Catherine Spieker of Chicago, IL, nieces: Christin Kverum and Laila Kroge of Norway; nephews Alan Oliver of Chicago, IL and Robert Stenvik of Norway as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from First Lutheran Church in Amery. There will be a time of visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church.
