Peggy Love Smith (Wilkinson) went home to be with the Lord in Amery, Wisconsin on Friday, December 19th, 2014. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Colleen Murray, and son-in-law, Jeff Murray. Her grandchildren, Angela Moulton (Lee), Michael O'Phelan, Ashley Reed (Nathan), Shane Murray, and Jacob Murray (Mary). Great-grandchildren Jackson, Madison, Taylor, Marshall, and Shelby. Great-great-grandchild Bently. Sisters Edith, Cheri, Bonnie, and Jeanne. She was preceded in death by her husband Gale Zane Smith. Parents Lloyd and Marion Wilkinson. Siblings George, Lloyd "Buck", Donna, Molly, and Gloria.
Peggy was born April 2nd, 1934 to Lloyd and Marion Wilkinson in Aurora, South Dakota. She grew up in a large family with seven sisters and two brothers. At 19 she moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota where she met her husband Gale and were married on February 25th, 1956. They began their family in White Bear Lake, Minnesota where they welcomed their only child, Colleen, into the world. After 35 years residing there, they retired to Amery, Wisconsin. Peggy was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored. Peggy lived a full life. She was a very talented artist, active member of the church, and enjoyed being part of any event that crossed her path. She was dearly loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Amery, Wisconsin on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 at 12:00 p.m., there will be a visitation 1 hour prior to services from 11:00 a.m.to Noon at the church, and a luncheon to follow the service. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Peggy's life.
