Phyllis Ardale Erickson was born in Rusk County, Wisconsin on July 28, 1924 the daughter of William and Mabel Hintzman. She grew up near Elk Mound, Wisconsin. Phyllis graduated from Elk Mound High School and then started working. She met Harold Erickson and on June 1, 1946 they were united in marriage in Menomonie, Wisconsin and to this union two children were born. With Harold's job they moved to various communities. They lived in Menomonie, Marshfield and Columbus, Wisconsin before moving to Amery in 1967. She worked as a bookkeeper, first in the Feed Mill in Columbus and then for Hubbard Milling in Amery. Phyllis was active in Amery and was a volunteer with 4-H, belonged to Homemakers and the Red Hat Society. She was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was proud to have served on the Banner Committee and the Stained Glass Window Committee. She was also part of a weekly Bible Study Group. Phyllis enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. When her grandson would visit he enjoyed playing cards with the "Golden Girls". She also liked taking time for a shopping trip and had fun shopping until the car was full. After Harold's death she remained in her home on the Apple River until this past June when she moved to Amery Memory Care. Phyllis passed away on Friday morning, October 3, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold and sister Violet Williams. Surviving family members include her son Gary and his wife Corrine, daughter Tammy Siemsen and her husband Tom; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.



Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
