Obituary

Priscilla Jane Petersen, age 80 of Amery, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Priscilla was born on March 1, 1934 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, to George and Augusta (Voshage) Strenge. She attended school in Mt. Lake, Minnesota and graduated from high school in Windom, Minnesota. After high school, Priscilla worked at PG Grey Produce and also started her own business, surgically castrating young roosters. Priscilla married Leslie Petersen on April 10, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake and to this union two children were born, Alesia and Stanley. The couple resided in Estherville, Iowa for seven years. In 1959 they moved to Wisconsin and farmed in the Joel area for a short time while Priscilla also worked for Fabri-Tek. In 1963, they purchased Super Lockers in Amery and worked there for 30 years. Priscilla was active in First Lutheran Church with quilting, the altar committee and as a work group leader. She also belonged to the Amery Lions, German club and Bridge club. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Leukemia Walk and the area Food Pantry. Priscilla enjoyed snowmobiling, trap shooting, golf, playing bridge, oil painting, fishing, her cabin, and going to Texas in the winter. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Alesia; son, Stanley and husband, Les. She is survived by her grandson, Jeff Nielsen of Amery; granddaughter, Katie (James) McAlpine of Rogers, Minnesota, and two great grandsons, Carter Nielsen and Samuel McAlpine. She is also survived by her brothers, George (Lois) Strenge of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Richard (Tammi) Strenge of Bradenton, FL; Rodney (Myrna) Strenge of Buffalo, Minnesota and Roger Strenge of St. James, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from First Lutheran Church in Amery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
