Raymond Clifford Siggens of Amery lifted off the runway for the last time on a final flight to Heaven & God's house on Tuesday, December 23,2014. Ray was born in Racine, Wisconsin, July 23, 1924 to John C. & Charlotte (Morrison) Siggens and grew up in Wisconsin & Michigan and graduated from
Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1942. It was in Eau Claire where Ray met Margaret Hancock but before they could mature their relationship there was an international issue with WWII that was pressing, and Ray enlisted in the Army Air Corp where he developed the 2nd love of his life in flying
and served stateside in Texas and California through the duration. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Corp he returned to Wisconsin and resumed his courtship with Peg Hancock and they began their 68-year marriage on January 2nd 1946. They lived in California briefly but
returned to Wisconsin and Ray used the GI Bill to help him through College where he graduated from Stout State in Menomonie in 1952 with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Having been associated with the Boy Scouts when younger he took a job as a Professional Scout Director with the Indianhead
BSA out of Eau Claire until he landed work closer to his degree with Chippewa Plastics in Chippewa Falls and used that experience to migrate to Doughboy Packaging in New Richmond where he worked until 1970. That year, he moved to California and became a partner in King Sales & Engineering
selling bottling & packaging machinery out of Oakland, California until his retirement in 1991. At that time Ray & Peg returned to their roots in Wisconsin and bought and remodeled a house on Pike Lake in Amery. While a resident of Amery, Ray volunteered as a Director of the Amery Senior
Center and the Polk County Lakes Board as well as serving on the Board of the Amery Community Foundation. Having been raised in Wisconsin and learning to camp with the Boy Scouts, Ray had a great love of nature and water sports and is responsible for teaching all of his kids how to camp,
swim, water-ski, swamp and unswamp a canoe build a great campfire and tell good stories in the afterglow of a S'more. Ray enjoyed the City of Amery and especially enjoyed the Airport where he hangered a plane until he stopped flying in 2005. When he wasn't flying or hangar flying at the
airport Ray truly enjoyed having his 4-children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to the lake house for many glorious outdoor days sliding, swimming from the pontoon or watching a
baseball/volleyball/ tetherball game in the yard ( and yes, even an occasional 'Yard work patrol) as his family enjoyed great times, great food and built the memories for a lifetime. He will be dearly missed and, although his family is heartbroken at the loss of this remarkable man, there will be as many smiles and laughing as there are tears as they recount the life and lessons of 'Pabah'
Ray was preceded in death by his parents: John & Charlotte Siggens of Eau Claire and Grandson Jon Brown of Mountain View, Ca.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Peg Siggens of Amery, WI ; his sister Marilyn (Roland) Haugen of Sturgeon Bay, Daughters Susan (Mike) Riley of Fairmont. MN; Sally Siggens of Cary; NC; Jeanne Hancock Siggens of Amery, WI;. Son John (Denise) Siggens of Somerset, WI.. Grandchildren Megan & Tim Riley of Boulder, CO. area; Patrick Riley of Miami, FL; Ian Burton of Cary, NC; Vala Burton of Los Angeles, CA; Desiree Siggens of Woodbury, Minnesota; Alicia Siggens of Milwaukee, WI; Anna, Johnny & Jimmy Siggens of Somerset, WI. Great Grandchildren Lance, Jake, Marley & Piper of
Woodbury MN and two new great grand-babies to be born in 2015. He also leaves other relatives and friends.


A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery. Visitation will be for the hour prior to the service.
