Obituary

Richard "Dick" Jerome Connors was born in Richfield, Minnesota on April 20, 1930 to James F. and Lucille (Waters) Connors. Dick grew up in the St. Paul Midway area and graduated from Central High School. After completing high school he took a job as a mechanic. Dick lived and worked as a mechanic in the St. Paul area, where he also raised three children. In 1980 he decided to move to Wisconsin to make his home. He was familiar with the area since he had been enjoying having a cabin on Big Blake Lake for many years prior. In 1994, Dick moved to Amery where he has been residing ever since.
Dick enjoyed playing cards with his friends, especially cribbage. He loved to travel and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of the United Sportsman Club in West St. Paul, Minnesota as well as the Amery American Legion and the North America Hunting Club. On December 29, 2010, Dick passed away at Amery Regional Medical Center at the age of 80.
Preceding Dick in death was his parents and three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving son Richard "Rick" (Stacey) Connors, daughters Lynda Rode and Lori (Dale) Smith, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother George Brose, and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery. The Very Reverend John Drummy and Deacon Bud Heiser will be officiating services. Music for the service will be provided by Arlene Dado and the St. Joseph Funeral Choir. Interment will be in the Amery Cemetery.
