Richard "Rick" Wayne Altendorfer, age 63 of Clear Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home in Clear Lake. He was born on August 29, 1953 in St. Paul Minnesota to Richard and Maeme Altendorfer. Richard graduated from White Bear Lake High School in White Bear Lake, MN, and on August 14, 1994 he was united in marriage to Melissa Gumke in Amery, WI. Richard enjoyed playing guitar, piano, singing, and loved writing his own songs with his daughter Marissa. A favorite quote he had was, "It's always about the music". He was also an avid Packer fan, and loved his mom's home cooking. Richard was always there for his children. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Alfred Altendorfer. He is survived by his mother, Maeme Altendorfer; loving wife, Melissa; daughters, Marissa Altendorfer and Mary (Nick) Dinger; a son Patrick (Randi) Smyth; four grandchildren, Emily, Justin Emmanuel and Madilyn; a great-granddaughter, Kolliey; a brother, Michael (Jane) Altendorfer; sisters, Linda (Jerry) Martin, and Janet (Terry) Cavegn; and his mother and father in law, Dennis and Anita Gumke, brother-in- law Lee (Corrine) Gumke. Richard is also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the United Covenant Church in Clear Lake with Pastor Dan Pearson officiating. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the church. A private family interment will be held at a later date. A luncheon will be held following the service.
