Obituary

Robert P. Sherrard of Georgetown, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October 10, 2013 at the age of 94 with his family at his side.
Robert was born in Stillwater, MN to Percy and Carrie Sherrard on August 27th, 1919. He attended school in Stillwater, MN. He worked with his dad and brother in a grocery store and bait shop. The family moved to the Big Blake Lake area in Georgetown Township in the early 1940's where they established Sherrards Resort.
He married Doreen F. Campbell in January of 1941 in Minnesota. Seven children were born, Anne, Carolyn, Nancy, Judy, Robert, Richard and Lee.
He worked at many places during his lifetime while he was building his resort business. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, shooting his last deer in 2011. His favorite pastime was regaling his customers and kin with stories of hunting and fishing along with a few practical antics.
He built a tavern with a dance floor so he could dance with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of fifty years. Robert is survived by his brother Harold (Goldie), cousin Helen Daniels, daughters Anne Yourchuck (Dean), Carolyn Tourville, Nancy Rud, Judy Ennells and sons, Robert (Ronnie) Richard, and Lee (Pamela). He leaves 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and a great many friends to mourn his passing.
A visitation will be held at the Williamson- White funeral home for Robert on Tuesday, October 15 from 4pm until 8pm. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16 with Father John Drummy officiating. A visitation will also take place the hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater, MN.
