Obituary

Robert "Bob' Dale Stam, 83, of Amery, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Riverbend Assisted Living in Amery.

Bob was born in Heron Lake, MN on December 11, 1940, to the late Fredrick and Wilma (Ahrens) Stam. He went to high school and graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, MN. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Masters Certificate in Business Analysis from Watermark Learning Auburn University in 2008. He married Darlene "Cookie" Singer on June 28, 1963, in Bismark, ND, at Trinity Lutheran Church. After graduation he worked for the Control Data Corporation as a Project Manager. He left Control Data to work for other companies including ETA Systems, Thrivent Financial and retired from the Target Corporation as a Software Project Manager and Business Analyst. He was involved in the Worship Team at Vision of Glory Lutheran Church, Girl Scouts, assisted with the Wayzata Jr. and Sr. High Ski Team, and enjoyed weekends camping and fishing with his family. He received the Outstanding Contribution NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Cyber 205 Installation Award, and The Great Performers Orlando award in 1984 for Employee Recognition for Sustained Excellence. He served as the 4-H President in High School.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlene: daughter, Michelle (Eric) Mudge; son, Brent (Kimberly) Stam: siblings Dianne Hensley, Sharon (John) Hunter and Ronald Stam: grandchildren, James (Stephanee) Mudge, Malia (Jesse) Strouse and John (Catherine) Mudge: great-grandchildren Alistair Strouse and Kennedy Mudge; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Arie Stam and Wilma Marie Anderson.

Memorials may be given to your local 4-H Club , Crazy Horse Memorial or Golden Valley Animal Humane Society.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Williamson-White Funeral Home with Pastor Loren Teig officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Family and Friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments immediately following the service at Amery Free Lutheran Church, 647 113th Street, Amery, WI 54001.
