Roland P. Belisle age 79, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Roland was born on January 18, 1937 to Alfred and Eva Belisle in the Apple River Township in Wisconsin. He attended Blake Elementary School in Georgetown Township and later graduated from Balsam Lake High School in 1956. He received his teaching degree from the Polk County Teacher's College in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. After graduation he accepted his first teaching job in Cushing, Wisconsin and went onto teach elementary and Middle School in the Racine School District. He later received his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. He later retired in 1996 after his 40 year teaching career. He returned to the family farm in rural Balsam Lake on upper White Ash Lake in 1996. He was a proud member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and the church choir.
Roland is survived a brother, Jerome Belisle; 2 sisters, Rita Lund and Sister Clare C.S.J.; many nieces & nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lucille Downs and Nora Peterson and a brother, Louis.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin with Father Gene Murphy officiating. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, Township.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Racine, Wisconsin School District.
