Obituary

Rosella Frances Paulson passed away on February 6, 2010 at the Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery, Wisconsin. She was born to Otto (Ed) and Magdalena (Middendorp) Wendt on June 7, 1925 in Clayton, Wisconsin. She met and married Elmer Herman Meyer on November 19, 1945 and together they had 8 children. They made their home in Turtle Lake Township, east of Clayton on County Highway D, and farmed until the 70's. Rosella worked at Fabri-Tek, Jerome Foods and at the Cumberland Nursing Home besides being a mother to her 8 children. She did a lot of home canning in order to feed those 8 hungry children. She would can jars of food by the hundreds, make homemade cottage cheese, pick berries of all kinds and can them, can hundreds of quarts of choke cherry jelly and it would all be gone by the next year. She also enjoyed working out, making friends and just loved people. She was also known for taking in little birds and fixing them when they were injured and had a cage just for her injured friends. After her husband Elmer passed away in 1987, she then met and married Marshall Paulson on December 17, 1988. They made their home in the trailer park in Clayton until November 2006 when she took residence at the Golden Age Manor until her death. Rosella is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lena Wendt, her brother Alvin, son Robert, husband Elmer and second husband Trooper Marshall Paulson. She is survived by 5 daughters and one step daughter: Linda (Dean) Oehlke of Clayton; Marjorie Koehler of New Richmond, Wisconsin; Sheila (Marvin) Hanson of Cushing, Wisconsin; Karen (Stanley) Bogacz of Deltona, Florida; Sandra Braden of Mikana, Wisconsin; and Marsha (Tony) Rubinelli of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She is also survived by 2 sons: Elmer (Cathy) of Star Prairie, Wisconsin; and Dennis (Jane) of Comstock, Wisconsin; as well as 25 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 1 great, great granddaughter, a brother Donald Wendt of New Richmond, Wisconsin and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Immanuel Lutheran-Silver Creek Church with Reverend David Emmons presiding. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at the Williamson-White Funeral home in Amery, Wisconsin as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are Gregory Stesniak, Holly Bjerke, Sarah Vogland, Cory Meyer, Andy Meyer, Ethan Meyer, and Becky Stesniak. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Silver Creek Cemetery.
