Ruby M. Roberts passed away peacefully at Golden Age Manor on March 24, 2010. Ruby was born on November 16, 1921 on her grandpa Eli Cardinal's farm in Range, Wisconsin. Her parents later purchased the farm in Range where she was raised. She graduated from Balsam Lake High School. Ruby married Walter Sr. in 1941 and they took up residence in St. Paul, Minnesota. From there Ruby and Walter moved to the Amery area where they farmed for many years. While living on the farm, she returned to school for nursing and received her LPN degree. She worked as a LPN for the Amery Hospital for many years prior to her retirement. Ruby took great pleasure in cooking during the holidays for her family. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. She was very proud of all her grandchildren earning college degrees. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Sr., parents John and Maye Cardinal, siblings Gladys, Albertha and Charles, sister-in-law Lois, daughter-in-law Roxanne and grandson Ryan. She is survived by children Mary Moore, Wally (Corine), John (Kim) and David; as well as grandchildren Megan Bell, Ericka Moore, Stacy (Jeff) Conner, Bradley (Elizabeth), Jody (John) Parkinson, Eric, Matthew, Danny (Elizabeth), and 13 great grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by siblings Arthur, Eli (Clarice), Donna (Robert) Fortmeyer and sister-in-law Carole. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery with the Very Reverend John Drummy and Deacon Bud Heiser officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Casketbearers are her grandchildren. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery
