Obituary

Ruby Edith Springer was born the daughter of Gilbert and Ella (nee:Johnson) Torgeson on February 17, 1924 in Clayton, Wisconsin. She grew up in Clayton and graduated from the Clayton High School in 1942. She was united in marriage on April 27, 1945 to Cleland Springer in Clayton and to this union three daughters were born. Ruby worked at Fabri-tek in Amery for many years, but was also an important part of the operation of their dairy farm in rural Clayton. She and Cleland worked together in everything that they did. She loved going fishing, but watch out, she was competitive about who caught the first fish or the biggest. Often it was Ruby taking the prize. Ruby has been a resident of Golden Age Manor and passed away there on Friday night, March 7, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cleland, son-in-law Dale Nottom, brother Milton and sisters Fern and Iva. She also was preceded by a great granddaughter Kiandra Schaffer. Surviving family members include her daughters: Joanne (Larry) Schaffer, Duffy (John) Prusak, and Diane Nottom; nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from Faith Lutheran Church in Clayton. There will be visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Marsh Lake Cemetery in rural Clayton.
