Obituary

Russell Charles Christensen was born in Clayton, Wisconsin on July 23, 1937 the son of Lyle and Rose Christensen. He grew up in rural Clear Lake and graduated from the Clear Lake High School in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force from November of 1955 until July of 1960. After returning home from the service he married Amelia Emma Reddig on November 11, 1961. They lived in the twin cities and he worked for Spence Kellogg where he was active in the union, eventually becoming union leader. He also worked for Lazy Sue Potato Chips for a period of time. In 1971 they moved to rural Amery and he worked for F & A Cheese until retiring. During his life he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Spending time with family was also a very important time for him. This past January he was diagnosed with cancer. As his health declined he moved to Golden Age Manor where he passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the age of 76 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Warren (Butch) and Douglas as well as sister Loretta Lozier. Surviving family members include his wife Amelia; son Kevin Christensen; daughter Dawn (John) Costello; 5 grandchildren; brother Donald (Charlotte) Christensen; sister Laura (Fred) Feuerpfeil as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from the Williamson-White Funeral Home. There will be a visitation time for the hour prior to the service. Burial will be with military honors at the Balsam Lutheran Cemetery in rural Amery
