Ruth B. Mills was born on October 14, 1923 in Colfax, Wisconsin the daughter of Carl and Lillian (Freestone) Amble. She graduated from high school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and went on to attend a year of teachers college. On July 2, 1944 she was united in marriage to Gordon Mills and together they had three children. They lived in Amery while Gordon worked for Fabri-tek and then moved to Eau Claire returning to Amery in 1985. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed time with family and raising her children. She loved decorating, dancing, music and visiting with people. She had moved to Shell Lake to be closer to family and passed away at the Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother and two sisters. Surviving family members include her children: Deborah (Dennis) Christopherson, Dave (Lynne) Mills and Melissa Mills; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Amery Free Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. There will be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Amery Cemetery.
